Refund policy

This Return and Refund Policy is governed by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and, where applicable, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), and applies to purchases made from Solar Nest.

1. Cooling-Off Period (14 Days)

If you purchased your goods online, telephonically, or through any other direct marketing channel, you have the right under the ECTA to cancel your order within 14 (fourteen) calendar days of receiving the goods, without penalty and without giving a reason.

To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing at solarnestofficial@gmail.com within the 14-day period, stating your order number and intention to return the item.

2. Returning the Goods

  • Goods must be returned within 14 days of notifying us of your cancellation.
  • Items must be returned in their original condition, unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging with all accessories, manuals, and labels included.
  • Custom-made, special-order, or goods that have been installed, used, or altered may not qualify for a cooling-off return, as permitted under the CPA and ECTA.
  • The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods, unless the goods are faulty, defective, or were incorrectly supplied.

3. Defective, Unsafe, or Faulty Goods

In line with section 56 of the CPA, if goods are found to be defective, unsafe, or do not perform as intended within 6 (six) months of delivery, you may, at our discretion or as required by law, request a repair, replacement, or refund.

To report a faulty item, please contact us at solarnestofficial@gmail.com with your order number, a description of the fault, and supporting photos or videos where possible.

4. Refunds

  • Approved refunds will be processed within a reasonable time, generally within 7-14 business days of us receiving and inspecting the returned goods.
  • Refunds will be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Where applicable, original delivery charges are non-refundable, except where the return is due to our error or a defect in the goods.

5. Exclusions

The cooling-off right does not apply to:

  • Goods that have been custom-manufactured or specially ordered to your specifications.
  • Goods that have been installed or used in a manner that affects their resale value (e.g. installed solar systems, wired components).
  • Goods clearly identified as final sale or non-returnable at the time of purchase.

This does not affect your rights under section 56 of the CPA in respect of defective goods.

6. How to Initiate a Return or Refund

  1. Email solarnestofficial@gmail.com within 14 days of receiving your order (or as soon as possible if reporting a defect).
  2. Include your order number, reason for return, and photos if the item is damaged or faulty.
  3. We will respond with return instructions and confirm whether the item qualifies for a refund, repair, or replacement.
  4. Once we receive and inspect the returned goods, we will notify you of the outcome and process any applicable refund.
